The days dedicated to Table Setting in Rome have come to an end, and on the train back I could do nothing but think about how much had been done, how much effort the participants had put in and how much beauty we had shared. Just a few lines before leaving the wonderful images of Daniele Pierangeli the first day and of Marcella Cistola The second day. Today I want to tell you about this first day through Daniele Pierangeli's eyes...
The beauty of these courses is that from the initial idea to the actual realization of a project, there's always a subtle hint of anxiety... will it be too much? Will it be too little? Will they be capable? Aren't these projects a bit ambitious?
There are always difficulties, and managing to create harmony and balance in a class in a very short time, especially when there are many of you, is a delicate step that requires great attention from each of you. Getting this magical creative thread to start smoothly and fluidly, I confess, is not so obvious, yet, like magic, it happens every time, and all of you, so eager to learn, participate, and create, always manage to amaze me and bring to life with your own hands what I have imagined, drawn, and dreamed up until the moment we meet in the classroom. A few minutes to get to know each other, even if, more and more often, it is with some of you not the first time, and it is so wonderful to see you return again and again!
After these very quick introductions, the moment has finally come when I must finally share with you all the ideas that are in my mind, in my eyes, in my heart. I try to convey them to you by explaining, telling stories, moving my hands, and showing you the techniques... but many times some things are so new to you... you look at me with wide eyes, asking questions, and observing every little step, and then... here we are, the dance begins. The energy in the air is vibrant, you can feel it, we work together as a great team, and finally the lines are defined, everything takes shape, and at that point, as always, I say to myself, "We're here, we can do it, we can do it this time too!"
If I took this course, it's because I have professionals and companies I can count on and who have placed their trust in me.
Thanks for the hospitality at Alicantistore Frascati, thanks for the equipment at International catering thanks for the calligraphic details to Cecilia Boschi and of course to my beloved Anna Iannone, Silviadeifiori's reference on Rome and dear friend.
The next table setting event? In Milan, and maybe even in Rome...definitely very soon!
