A December wedding like Christmas Day? Certainly not! Here are a few tips for creating a warm and sparkling atmosphere, but without going overboard...
Getting married in DecemberWinter has already begun, the days are tinged with cold and sometimes dark shades... and yet I believe that this cold, grey air has an irresistible charm, and I'm not the only one who thinks so, in fact, more and more brides are deciding to pronounce the fateful "I do" in the cold months. But why this choice? Because winter is easier to create a warm, intimate atmosphere, especially for those who choose to get married in December, the month dedicated to Christmas and its magic. Combining weddings and Christmas can yield some truly evocative ideas. The only key is not to overdo it; the Christmas theme should be subtle, present but not overwhelming. If we think only of small lights, candles, and plays of transparencies and reflections, we can already imagine the mood. But let's get into the details.
The Wedding Dress
Winter bridal outfits are typically made with heavier fabrics and feature a variety of accents, such as velvet, lace, or frills that can accentuate the décolleté. A December bridal gown can certainly be enhanced with accessories like gloves, coats, or capes, as well as shrugs and stoles that sometimes double as trains. For the more eccentric, perhaps even a little more extreme accessories... an example? For an informal wedding, beautiful fur boots! The combinations are endless, so you can let your imagination run wild, but again, don't overdo it!
The bouquet
I always recommend seasonal ones. During this time of year, you're fortunate to be able to play with various shades of color, from very bright ones like red to white in its myriad hues and shades (yes, you read that right, I'm talking about white!), or to play with tone-on-tone. In short, the choice is vast. If your flower designer can suggest artificial details to add, such as small crystals, rhinestones, or sparkles, you can create bouquets that will add that extra touch of sparkle to your wedding dress. Lastly, even the bouquet's closure can be a source of inspiration for something very elegant.
The Groom's Dress
The groom's dress code features heavier fabrics like light wool or satin in dark colors that always add a touch of elegance. To protect against the cold, the suit is complemented with accessories like leather gloves and a wool scarf in the same shade as the tie.
LOCATION
The warm and welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by a beautifully decorated fireplace that illuminates the reception room! Rooms with vaulted ceilings or barn-like structures are adorned with simple designs that reflect the wedding theme. Imperial tables are very trendy, embellished only with long runners in luxurious fabrics adorned with simple Christmas-themed decorations, such as pine cones, pine branches, or eucalyptus. However, be sure to keep it simple; it shouldn't feel like a Christmas dinner, much less a Christmas village. Everything is very restrained.
Now the last gem… color of the year 2016 for the winter months: platinum, a must, a color of unparalleled elegance, will reign supreme this year to the undersigned's great joy.
The light this metallic color emits is unparalleled, its effect is truly precious, creating unparalleled effects. Happy creativity, everyone!
