- Studies on the theory of shadows and chiaroscuro: direct shadow, cast shadow, how light reflects on different surfaces and materials
- Studies on the light source (external, internal, diffused, direct, warm, cold, natural or artificial)
- Exercise in fast drawing and the ability to draw live or en plein air, giving character and expressiveness to one's own line
