How to Make a Flower Arch? 7 Essential Rules

My clients often ask me to make a arch of flowers or one plant frame that embraces the spouses during the wedding ceremonyA fairytale suggestion at the most beautiful moment of the union of two lovers, an essential must if you want something unique. For this reason, when I am commissioned, I really try to give my best, customizing it according to the different personalities and the style they desire for their marriage.

Ready? Go!

Here, then, are the 7 fundamental rules for making a flower arch:

1. View all the spaces possible for the performance of the ceremony

2. Examine the land on which the bow will have to rest, before hypothesizing the support that you will use

3. Keep in mind thehours and, consequently, the light that will be there during the event (a very important factor not only for the photos!)

4. Don't overdo it with Pinterest, it's better to daydream! Once you've imagined the most beautiful arch for you or your spouses, jot down a few sketchI implore you, always unleash your creativity!

5. Schematize thenecessary And, if necessary, ask a carpenter or blacksmith for help with any technical needs. They'll be the first to provide you with tons of ideas!

6. Get your hands on shears, wire and whatever else you have… roll up your sleeves to create a real prototypeEspecially if you're just starting out, this step is crucial to avoid future difficulties and slip-ups.

7. Alternatively, you could take advantage of ready-made structures (sometimes you just need to assemble them) which are easily found on the market, without forgetting the space they will take up in cellars and warehouses.

I know, it seems impossible when explained like this (at least the first few times). But don't give up, keep trying anyway!

In the “Flowering Arch” course from the Silviadeifiori Flower & Wedding School My students, when they see our initial project being realized step by step, are amazed at how easy even a large structure (with the right precautions) can be to build! In fact, very easy!

Inside the gallery Below I'll show you what we did during thelatest edition, hosted by Elizabeth Ferro in his magical Castle "The Round Table”. How much fun did we have? Endless! And how satisfying was the experience? Even more so!

The arches completed (in one day!) were not one, not two, but three! The first in country chic style, the second natural romantic and the third natural botanist, even though it wasn't yet in fashion. And here, allow me, I deserve a pat on the back: at Flower School, we're ahead of our time!

In short, whatever concept you choose, never forget the value of the technical aspect. Surely a wedding setup which provides for a flower arch represents a small investment on the part of the newlyweds, it's undeniable. However, its strong point is precisely that, being so scenic, it will then be necessary to add only a few other details.

What do you need to do it: training, taste and professionalism!
